1. Acceptance of these terms
Sarala ("we", "us", "our") is a software-as-a-service product operated by WEDDZ IT, a company incorporated in Sri Lanka. By creating an account at sarala.lk or using the Sarala mobile apps, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What Sarala does
Sarala is a multi-tenant business operating system for small businesses. We provide tools for invoicing, payments, cashbook, inventory, customer records, and reporting. We are a software provider — we do not audit your books, file your taxes, or give legal or accounting advice.
3. Your account and responsibilities
You must be at least 18 years old and represent a lawful business to open an account. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including the accuracy of the data you enter, the invoices you issue, and the tax treatments you select. Keep your password safe and notify us immediately at hello@sarala.lk if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use Sarala for any unlawful purpose, including fraud, money laundering, or tax evasion; (b) attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service; (c) upload malicious content; (d) impersonate another person or business; (e) resell or sublicense the service without our written consent.
5. Subscription fees and billing
Sarala offers a free tier and paid plans. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) via PayHere, our payment processor. Your subscription auto-renews at the end of each billing cycle at the then-current rate unless you cancel before the renewal date. Taxes, where applicable, are added at checkout.
6. Refunds
Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable once the billing cycle has started. For annual plans, you may request a pro-rated refund within 14 days of the initial purchase by emailing hello@sarala.lk. After 14 days, annual plans are non-refundable for the remainder of the term. We may, at our sole discretion, issue goodwill refunds in exceptional cases.
7. Non-payment and account suspension
If a payment fails, we will retry and notify you by email. If the account remains unpaid for 7 days after a failed renewal, read-only access may be restricted; after 30 days, the account may be suspended. Your data is retained and can be restored by settling the outstanding balance within 12 months of suspension.
8. Your data
You own the data you put into Sarala — your customers, invoices, products, and financial records remain yours. We act as a data processor on your behalf. You can export your data at any time from Settings. If you close your account, we retain your data for 12 months, after which it is permanently deleted, subject to legal retention obligations.
9. Service availability
We aim for 99.5% monthly uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform scheduled maintenance (announced via the in-app banner) or emergency maintenance without prior notice. Sarala is provided "as is" and "as available".
10. Disclaimers
Sarala is a tool; business outcomes are not. We make no warranty that the service will meet your specific commercial needs, that reports will satisfy every auditor or tax authority, or that the service will be free of errors. You are responsible for verifying any output before acting on it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Sri Lankan law, our total liability arising from or related to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or lost-profit damages, including revenue lost to a miscalculated invoice, a missed tax deadline, or a third-party payment processor outage.
12. Third-party services
The service relies on third-party providers including PayHere (payments), Resend and Text.lk (email and SMS delivery), Supabase (authentication), Neon (database), Cloudflare (file storage), and Anthropic (AI features). We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of these providers. Their terms apply to their parts of the stack.
13. Changes to the service and these terms
We may update the service, add or remove features, and revise these terms. Material changes to the terms will be announced at least 14 days in advance by email or in-app notification. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, cancel your subscription before the effective date.
14. Termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time from the billing page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, violate applicable law, or remain unpaid. On termination, your export rights under Section 8 remain available for 12 months.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
